Twiist Pump To Support Eversense 365, 1-Year Implantable CGM
Sequel Med Tech announces support for the Eversense CGM as it prepares for the twiist insulin pump launch. Here's what you need to know.

Huge interoperability news has dropped in the world of diabetes tech: Sequel Med Tech and Senseonics announced that the twiist Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) System will be the first to integrate with the Eversense 365, the only one-year implantable continuous glucose monitor (CGM). The integrated system is expected to launch in Q3 2025, following twiist’s initial rollout this quarter with support for the Libre 3 Plus CGM. This milestone marks a win not just for tech innovation, but for people with diabetes seeking flexibility, choice, and truly personalized care.
This collaboration is especially significant because it’s the first time Eversense has integrated with an insulin pump — and it’s not just any pump. twiist stands out with its unique volume-based micro-dosing technology, iPhone app and Apple Watch control, and support for the Tidepool Loop algorithm. This is a major leap forward for both companies — and more importantly, for the people using their systems.
What is the Eversense 365 CGM?

In September 2024, the Eversense 365 became the first implantable CGM to receive iCGM clearance from the FDA, paving the way for use in AID systems like twiist. Unlike traditional CGMs that require frequent sensor changes, Eversense 365 offers up to one full year of wear time with just one insertion by a healthcare provider. It’s approved for people with diabetes ages 18 and up.
The system consists of:
An implantable sensor placed under the skin.
A rechargeable transmitter worn over the sensor that sends glucose data every 5 minutes to a smartphone.
On-body vibration alerts for hypo and hyperglycemia — even when your phone isn’t nearby.
Eversense 365 also requires less frequent calibration than its predecessors — just once a week after the first 13 days. Watch my interview with an Eversense user to hear what it’s like living with this CGM in real life.
And there’s more coming. I recently spoke with leaders at Eversense about what the future holds for the system, including sensor enhancements, new form factors, and expanded access. Watch that interview below.
What feature of the Eversense 365 excites you most? |
Getting to know the twiist pump
The twiist AID System, launching this quarter, is designed to rethink insulin delivery from the ground up. It’s the first pump to measure the actual volume of insulin delivered with each micro-dose, helping ensure greater dosing precision. It’s a tubed pump that’s fully controlled via smartphone or Apple Watch, giving users a sleek and modern experience.
Key features include:
A dosing algorithm based on Tidepool Loop, adjusting basal rates based on real-time glucose data.
Advanced occlusion detection to catch issues faster.
Compatibility with both Libre 3 Plus and soon, Eversense 365, giving users real CGM choice.

I spoke with Alan Lotvin, CEO of Sequel Med Tech, at ATTD to dive deep into the company's latest announcements (prior to this one). That conversation is a must-watch if you’re curious about where the pump space is headed—watch it here.

Why this integration matters…
This integration reflects a broader — and very welcome — trend in diabetes tech: true interoperability. By allowing people to choose from multiple CGMs and combine them with a pump that fits their lifestyle, Sequel and Senseonics are making diabetes management more customizable, and more empowering. We can only hope that aside from this and Libre 3 Plus integration, that support for Dexcom sensors is next.
We’ll be watching closely as the twiist + Eversense 365 combo rolls out later this year. If you’re an Eversense user looking for pump options, or a pump user intrigued by the promise of a year-long CGM, this could be the setup you’ve been waiting for.
What do you think about this integration? Would you switch to an implantable CGM if it worked with your pump? Let me know in the comments. Stay tuned for updates on the future of Medtronic and the latest in diabetes tech by following along on my TikTok, Instagram, Youtube, and podcast.
